MOPS provides you with fully paid legal representation and defense by experienced maritime attorneys if your vessel is involved in a shipping casualty or shipping incident leading to action against your marine license.
MOPS indemnifies you against loss or damage to your listed and approved professional equipment/instruments while aboard your vessel.
MOPS will pay your wages plus daily subsistence payments for up to 12 months should your license be revoked, suspended or reduced in grade as a result of a covered shipping casualty or shipping incident. You may choose to insure only a portion of your salary or decline this coverage altogether - it's your call.
MOPS provides you with paid legal defense by experienced maritime attorneys should a civil lawsuit be brought against or served upon you in any court within the United States, its territories or a foreign court as the result of a covered shipping casualty or incident involving your vessel.
MOPS provides you with paid legal defense by experienced maritime attorneys should you be charged in a civil penalty action by the U.S. Coast Guard or any other entity within the United States, its territories or a foreign court or administrative entity with authority to impose a civil penalty or fine as the result of a covered shipping casualty or shipping incident involving your vessel.
MOPS provides you with professional liability insurance to cover additional defense costs and/or judgements in civil court proceedings resulting from a covered shipping casualty or shipping incident. (Those choosing Professional/Civil Liability coverage must also purchase a minimum of $100,000 of Civil Legal Defense coverage.)
MOPS provides you with paid legal defense by experienced criminal attorneys should you be charged in a criminal action as the result of a marine casualty that results in allegations or charges related to federal and/or state water pollution laws and/or regulations.
MOPS reimburses you for reasonable attorney fees and expenses if you are compelled to attend, either as a party or witness, any inquiry of a foreign court concerning a shipping casualty involving your vessel.
