MOPS Privacy Policy

The Merchant Officers Protective Syndicate (“MOPS”) is committed to treating the personal information we collect about our customers, potential customers, former customers and claimants with the highest degree of confidentiality. For this reason and in compliance with the law, we have developed a Privacy Policy that is described below. For purposes of this Policy, the term “personal information” includes all information we obtain about an individual and maintain in a personally identifiable way. In order to assure the confidentiality of the personal information we collect and in order to comply with applicable laws, all individuals with access to personal information about our customers, potential customers, former customers and claimants are required to follow this policy.

Collection, Retention And Correction Of Personal Information About A Customer Or Claimant

We collect personal information about a customer, potential customer or claimant that we determine is necessary to deliver our products and services or to process a claim. Individuals with access to personal information are to use such information for such purposes only. We retain personal information only as long as required by our business practices and applicable law. If we become aware that an item of personal information may be materially inaccurate, we will make a reasonable effort to re-verify its accuracy and correct any error as appropriate.

We may use web browser tracking devices in order to track website visitor statistics. This information is used internally only by us. Visitor statistics are collected at an aggregate level and no personally identifiable information is collected or retained as a result of these activities. We do not use cookies to provide visitors with targeted advertising or content. Currently, MOPS does not support technology to respond to web browser “do not track” signals or other comparable mechanisms.

We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to ensure that personal information is treated in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We also restrict access to personal information within our organization to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to our customers or to conduct our business. Employees who have access to customer information may use it only on behalf of MOPS for legitimate business purposes.
